Created in 2007 SIRAIL is a French Family owned Medium-size company specialized in railway wiring and harnesses as well as design and conception.

The company has developed strongly over the years through internal and external growth and is now a Group of nearly 1,000 employees spread over 8 production sites, in 7 different countries (France – Italy – Germany – Poland – Morocco – Tunisia and Slovakia) and has generated a €81 million turnover in 2021 with prospects at €100 millions in the near future.

We operate in a technical environment, through tender projects and small series production, with customers mainly made up of very large identified European accounts (Alstom- Bombardier, Stadler, Hitachi, Nexter,…)

We therefore are re-enforcing our Technical Structure with the hiring of  a MECHANICAL DESIGN  ENGINEER  , located at our Italian Site of SIRAIL – IGM (Near La Spezia)

Job

Hierarchically attached to the Group Technical Director , the MECHANICAL DESIGN  ENGINEER, develop, test and validate mechanical and mechatronic systems and sub-systems necessary to ensures the industrialization of Group SIRAIL both for standard, customized applications and new products in cooperation with Sirail Group internal ressources. He supports the development of machineries part of modern rolling stock industry to be integrated within bigger technical environments according to final customer layout

 

Your main  missions and responsibilities will be :

 

·        To design the best solutions to realize mechanical and mechatronic systems, sub-systems and related single parts within SIRAIL group products applying the mostly advanced technological state of art

 

·        To stay up to date with advances in system technologies to seek out new ideas and applications;

 

 

·        To   cover the entire product development cycle starting from customer requirements analyses, moving through product design, validation till final FAT, BoM creation and management with occasional support to customer in the start-up phase on-site

 

·        To Document technology and results through suitable technical files, patent applications, technical reports with a high focus on commit and on-time delivery;

 

 

·        To ensure Technical  monitoring and stay current on new technologies and field claims;

Profile

General engineer training (Bachelor or Master)with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering,  you justify a first experience of 3 to 5 years minimum acquired in the industrial sector ideally in a small series environment, around mechanical design and testing where you have acquired basic knowledge of static and thermal analyses with FEM and hydraulic principles. An experience or know how in rolling stocks standard or specifications is a plus.

 

You have a strong interest for the shopfloor activity with a problem solving mindset ,a real interpersonal skills. Sensitivity and technical curiosity, highly focused on process and innovation, editorial ability, responsiveness and dynamism are part of your areas of strength.

Recognized for your analytical skills, your rigor and your sense of priorities, demanding with a real sense of customer service and on time delivery you always have a positive state of mind and are a team player. Your ability to live in a changing environment, to make operational decisions, to think outside your comfort zone are your main assets.

 

You have a good practice of Project management as well as continuous improvement tools and the use of ERP and of course you are familiar with  CAD tools (CATIA V5, PTC Creo preferred);

 

Your English is operational.(Intermediate level – Ideally  B2 level)

Job located on Our Italian site near La Spezia

Punctual and short trips to the others SIRAIL Group sites and/or to customers locations are to be expected
